Course overview

Transform the way you communicate your insights to stakeholders.

In this course I share everything I've learned about how to write with impact that I've learned in a 10+ year career that spanned management consulting, big tech and founding my own UX research agency. I created this course because I believe that good ideas need good communication to thrive. Writing is an essential skill for anyone who works in any organisation from the smallest agile startup all the way through to the biggest publicly listed corporate organization.

Being able to align stakeholders around your ideas, your vision, your insights, and your recommendations is an absolutely critical skill for anyone who works with customer insights. I believe that this is a skill that can be taught and can be improved. Many of us go for long stretches in our career, focusing on other more technical skills. But writing is a critical, foundational skill that can and will increase your influence inside and outside your organization.

What students are saying

This course was a game-changer. It gave me a fresh perspective on how to craft research insights and recommendations that truly drive action. The frameworks were immediately practical, and I found myself applying the learnings straight away. I now have a much clearer understanding of how to connect insights to stakeholder priorities and write recommendations that deliver impact. The structure and approach taught in the course have already elevated the quality and effectiveness of my work. Highly recommend it.

The content within this course will help you learn how to improve your report writing and the impact of your research. I’m a UX Researcher with a background in communications, and I still found this course to be extremely valuable. The level of detail on frameworks, along with multiple examples, provides the clarity you need to apply this information in your role. You will understand how to create clear insights, actionable recommendations, well-structured reports, and presentation decks from your reports. The frameworks themselves can be used to improve your communication outside of reports as well. The engaging structure of the course allows you to: review the course content asynchronously, enforce your learning of the lessons via quizzes and assignments, engage with the instructors and your peers in workshops and via Slack, and continue learning through lists of additional resources. You have opportunities to provide feedback throughout the course, and the instructors are quick to act. Ruby and Lasmi are genuinely committed to providing a great experience for each cohort, and I have no doubt that they will only continue to add value and improve upon this course. If you are on the fence, know that this is the content & training I wish I had available to me in my early years, and it is one of the most impactful courses I’ve ever taken for my career.

Ruby provided great frameworks to make research more memorable and easy to digest. Her lectures were very thorough and she also provided templates that I was able to use right away for my research report. The practice activities and sharing each other's work helped me to learn and improve my writing, too. Lasmi too was a great co-facilitator too.

This course was incredibly valuable and highly recommended! The frameworks, lectures and workshops with Ruby and our cohort, and talks with other UXR leaders were inspiring and gave me a solid set of tools for organizing my thinking and my communications. I started applying them in my own user research work from day one. I highly recommend this course and look forward to more courses from Ruby!
